A central part of managing your productivity is maintaining a list of things that need to be done. My to-do app of choice is Todoist. This page describes how I use the app with links to other relevant sources to using Todoist.
Inbox
I use the Inbox the way that is described in Todoist Inbox documentation:
- Quickly add tasks so you can focus on whatever you are doing
- Take some time every day to clean up the inbox
I nudge myself to clean up the inbox through a daily notification. If the inbox is empty or if I don’t feel like it, it’s okay to simply discard the notification.
Defer dates
Defer dates (or start dates) define a date before which the task is not visible in the task list. This concept doesn’t exist out of the box, but Todoist provides alternatives on this FAQ page.
Shortcuts
An overview of all shortcuts can be found in the Todoist Keyboard Shortcuts documentation, but the most important ones for me are shown here:
Shortcut | Meaning |
